Emma's Easter Skirt!

This skirt I made from one of Spencer's Long sleeve grey t-shirts and 1/4 yrd of white broadcloth fabric! I didn't have a pattern or tutorial, I just went for it! It turned out so cute and I love it! I made the grey ruffles, by hand sewing down the middle of strips cut from the sleeves of the t-shirt! I just placed them on the skirt part and arranged them how I wanted, then pinned them on and sewed them in place! The waist band is just Elastic to give it a more ruffled and bunched look!

Puppet Theater!

Materials needed

*Cardboard box, You can use any size that you want, This one was from a cd player.
* masking tape
*acrylic paint
*foam brush
*some ribbon and hot glue gun
*Stickers of people or animals
*different colored cardstock
*popsicle sticks
*clear spray paint

Cut the bottom off box, and cut a square in front. Cut one of the flaps into a tower crown shape! Emma helped me paint the box and top crown any colors you wish! Don't forget to paint the inside of the box too, so that when you see through the inside, it doesn't look ugly! Emma placed stickers on the colored cardstock! And I cut out around the stickers!After you cut around the stickers on the paper, hot glue gun them to the popsicle sticksHot glue gun the top crown part to the box. and deocorate with ribbon and stickers. I put a ribbon where the top crown and box meet to cover up the hot glue. And ribbon along the bottome of the box for decor! The flowers and green swirls are painted on! After all is done, spray the clear paint all over box too avoid scratching off paint.I still haven't got a picture Emma using it, in the day light, where you can see her enjoying it...but really soon!

Emma's Chore Chart

All you need to start is a $1.50 regular size clipboard, and a package of normal size clothes pins for $1.25 at any walmart type store, or craft store. You will also need a list a few chores for your child and cute 8 1/2 " X 11" scrapbook paper, some modge podge and a brush!Print out the list of chores onto the cute scrapbook paper is a cute font! I also typed on the top on one side, "Done" and on the other side, "Not". Then she knows that she has to move the clothes pin from the "Not" side to the "Done" side after she does it! Then put modge podge on the clipboard and carefully place the paper on the clipboard to glue down! Smooth out any air pockets and let dry! While drying you can decorate your clothespins the same way you just did the chore chart to the clipboard! After the paper is dried to the clipboard, modge podge the top of the paper to clipboard again and let dry very good!!

Then hang on wall and enjoy! Emma loves to do her chores because at the end of everyday, she get's a penny for each chore done! I know a penny sounds so cheap, but here in Michigan we have a grocery store with a penny horse ride. And Emma loves to save up her pennies and take a few to the store!

Emma's Butterfly Room Decor

For my daughter's bedroom, her decor is butterflies and Precious Moments! So I made this mobile out of white paper with some pink and green pieces scattered throughout! It was so easy. I just took to sticks, and put them in a cross and hot glued them in the middle! I then tied twine on each end and tied the other end of each twine all together to hang on a ceiling hook!Then I drew a shap of a butterfly that I liked and cut it out af a heavier cardstock to use as my pattern! I then cut out, I don't know and exact number, probably 50 white, 10 pink and 10 green butterflys!Off each of the four sticks, I tied different lengths of thick cream colored string. And in each butterfly I hole punch two holes. I then strung on the butterflies, randomly! The holes in the butterflies were about the same size as the string, so no tieing or glueing was needed, the butterflies, just stay on all by themselves! I then tied a small knot at the end of each string. At the end I bent the butterfly wings in and out to look like they are flying! I love it!After the butterfly mobile, I decided to make some more, in different colors from around her room, and different sizes! I put some ribbon tape on the spine of the butterfly and put them on the wall and folded their wings out! so simple so cute

Emma's Kitchen

For this past Christmas, I really wanted to get my daughter Emma a Kitchen set! But I saw a before and after picture of something similar to this on a blog and decided that I could do this really easily! So we found this t.v. cabinet on craigslist.... I painted it white and added the silver oven top! I cut a circle in the top and silver painted a kitchen strainer for the sink. I then found some plastic plumming at Lowes and put the two together as a faucet. I also found wooden dresser nobs at Lowes and painted them green for the kitchen nobs! I added a white dowel and made the curtains out of left over fabric from Emma's beadspread! It turned out so so cute...and just wait till you see the felt food I made below!All of the food is just made out of felt and hand sewn! No patterns. I just found pictures online and tried to figure them out on my own!
